A modern composite construction from a yard in Holland which specialises in woodcore and epoxy construction for traditional charm coupled with low maintenance. "Ashling", a classic Thames counterstern launch, was made of cedar strip planking overlaid in mahogany and then epoxied, while the deck is maple and mahogany. The internal flooring is also of wood inlay and the solid inlaid engine box provides an attractive feature as well as a useful table. Steering is by means of a side wheel mounted on the port side. Ample seating is provided with a horseshoe bench in the bow and two canework chairs in the stern.
